Report: Industry Connect Session on the Importance of Threat Intelligence in
Cybersecurity.

The Industry
Connect Program featured an insightful session delivered by Mr. Ghanshyam
Pandey, Technical Lead at Coforge, on the topic "Importance of Threat
Intelligence in Cybersecurity".
The session
commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Bhatt, who introduced
Prof. Jeetendra Pande, Director of the School of Computer Science &
IT. In his address, Prof. Pande emphasized the growing relevance of
cybersecurity in the modern digital landscape. He spoke about the university’s
commitment to exposing students to emerging technologies and real-world
industry practices through such expert sessions. He encouraged learners to
actively participate, ask questions, and absorb knowledge that would prepare
them for the challenges of the IT industry. His words set an inspiring tone for
the session, highlighting the critical need for cybersecurity awareness and
readiness among students and professionals alike.
Following this, Mr.
Ashish Joshi extended a formal welcome to the guest speaker. Mr.
Ghanshyam Pandey then began his lecture by explaining the concept of threat
intelligence, its significance in identifying and countering cyber threats, and
its practical applications in organizational cybersecurity strategies.
He elaborated on
the evolving cyber threat landscape and discussed several types of
attacks, including phishing, malware, ransomware, social engineering, and
data breaches. Special emphasis was placed on how organizations can
proactively detect, respond to, and prevent such threats using timely and accurate
threat intelligence.
He also
discussed the dark web and its role in facilitating illegal cyber
activities, such as selling stolen credentials and malware. He explained how
monitoring and gathering information from such hidden networks can help organizations
stay ahead of potential threats.
The lecture
further covered prominent real-world data breach incidents, including
the cases of Target (2013), Equifax (2017), Facebook (2018), and SolarWinds
(2020), and what lessons can be learned from them. Mr. Pandey also introduced
learners to key components of building an effective threat intelligence program
and its role in incident response, vulnerability management, and regulatory
compliance.
Throughout the
session, Mr. Pandey addressed the questions raised by learners, clarifying
concepts and sharing practical insights from his professional experience.
After the
session, Ms. Himani Sah delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing
gratitude to Mr. Pandey for his informative and engaging lecture, which contributed
greatly to the participants' understanding of cybersecurity and threat

IIT बॉम्बे के प्रतिष्ठित स्पोकन ट्यूटोरियल प्रोजेक्ट और उत्तराखंड मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय (UOU), हल्द्वानी के सहयोग से एक वर्चुअल जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन दिनाँक 09 दिसंबर को किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य छात्रों और पेशेवरों को कौशल आधारित पाठ्यक्रमों की उपयोगिता और उनके प्रभाव के प्रति जागरूक करना था।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत UOU के प्रतिनिधियों और IIT बॉम्बे के स्पोकन ट्यूटोरियल टीम के परिचयात्मक भाषण से हुई। उन्होंने प्रतिभागियों को डिजिटल युग में कौशल विकास के महत्व और उद्योग की बदलती मांगों के अनुरूप कौशल आधारित पाठ्यक्रमों की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डाला।
स्पोकन ट्यूटोरियल, IIT बॉम्बे से वर्षा डांडे ने तकनीकी और व्यावसायिक कौशल पर आधारित पाठ्यक्रमों की विस्तृत जानकारी दी गई। इनमें पायथन, जावा, सी++, डेटा साइंस, मशीन लर्निंग, साइबर सुरक्षा और ओपन सोर्स सॉफ़्टवेयर जैसे विषय शामिल थे। UOU हल्द्वानी के कंप्यूटर साइंस विभाग के निदेशक प्रो. जीतेन्द्र पाण्डे ने कहा, "इस प्रकार के कार्यक्रम डिजिटल शिक्षा और कौशल विकास के लिए एक मील का पत्थर साबित हो सकते हैं। हमारे छात्रों को रोजगार और उद्यमशीलता में नए अवसर मिलेंगे। IIT बॉम्बे के साथ यह सहयोग शिक्षा के स्तर को और ऊंचा उठाएगा।
कंप्यूटर साइंस विभाग के प्रो. आशुतोष कुमार भट्ट ने कहा, "IIT बॉम्बे और UOU का यह सहयोग डिजिटल शिक्षा और रोजगार उन्मुख शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में एक नया मील का पत्थर स्थापित करेगा।" प्रतिभागियों ने इस पहल की सराहना की और प्रशिक्षण की गुणवत्ता तथा पाठ्यक्रम की सुलभता के बारे में सवाल पूछे ।
कार्यक्रम ने छात्रों और पेशेवरों को डिजिटल शिक्षा में संलग्न होने और अपने कौशल को बढ़ाने के लिए प्रेरित किया। यह सहयोग डिजिटल शिक्षा को प्रोत्साहित करने और रोजगार के नए अवसरों को बढ़ावा देने में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम साबित हुआ। विश्वविद्यालय के नोडल अधिकारी स्पोकन टुटोरिअल डॉ0 बालम दफौटी ने कहा हमारे विश्वविद्यालय के लिए IIT बॉम्बे के साथ सहयोग एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है। यह पहल हमारे छात्रों के करियर में नई संभावनाएं लाएगी और उन्हें रोजगारोन्मुख बनाएगी और साथ ही डा0 दफौटी ने कौशल आधारित पाठ्यक्रमों के प्रशिक्षण प्रक्रिया के बारे में विस्तार पूर्वक शिक्षार्थियों को बताया ।
UOU और IIT बॉम्बे की यह पहल आत्मनिर्भर भारत के लक्ष्य को साकार करने की दिशा में एक प्रेरणादायक प्रयास है। कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने में स्कूल ऑफ़ कंप्यूटर साइंस & आईटी से आशीष जोशी और अन्य स्टाफ ने सहयोग किया ।
